With the warm weather finally upon us (at least a nice taste of it), many people are taking to their local parks. Whitemarsh Parks and Recreation would like to encourage that kind of outdoorsy behavior, as it posted this week on the Whitemarsh Parks Facebook page, ?Visit a local park this week, great weather and great facilities.?
The Whitemarsh Township website (www.whitemarshtwp.org) lists five parks in its parks system. Most of the parks are fully described as listed on the township website or on the Plymouth Whitemarsh Patch Directory:
- Koontz Park: Located at 2391 Harts Lane in Lafayette Hill. The park opened in 2010 and features nature trails and sports amenities, as well as an ADA accessible playground.
- Leeland Park: Located at North Lane and Jones Street. The park features sports amenities (T-ball field and basketball courts), as well as picnic tables.
- Miles Park: Located at 308 Germantown Pike in Lafayette Hill. The park features athletic fields, picnic pavilions and playgrounds.
- Valley Green Park: Located at Church Road and East Valley Green Road. The park features athletic fields (softball field) and two half-basketball courts, as well as playground equipment.
- Cedar Grove Park: Located at Cedar Grove road and Wells Street in Lafayette Hill. The park features athletic fields and a basketball court. It is also the location of the Whitemarsh Community Art Center. ?
